Xiaomi has officially
announced that the next low-cost phone will land in India on February 14 (next
Wednesday), and it has even verified a few features. This means that the Redmi A3 won't be a secret for long.
The 6.71" 90Hz
display was one of the standout features mentioned on the package, and the
mi.com landing page does indeed promote the "butter-smooth" 90Hz
refresh rate. Though this is a little over the top, the Redmi A-series is as
inexpensive as Android gets.
Another upgrade
mentioned on the page is 6GB of RAM (with an additional 6GB of virtual RAM).
With 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage indicated on the box from the leak, Xiaomi
has readyed a new level. The Redmi A2+, which began at a meager 2/32GB, also reached
a maximum of 4/128GB.
Furthermore, the
battery capacity remains consistent at 5,000mAh, but the charging method has
evolved to USB-C, a departure from the microUSB used in the A2/A2+. While the
charging speed information is not disclosed, it is presumed to maintain the 10W
standard.
The shared images also
showcase the novel design featuring a sizable circular camera island, aptly
named the "All-New Premium Halo Design" by Xiaomi.
As for the pricing details, Xiaomi is currently keeping them undisclosed, with the revelation scheduled for next week. To provide context, the Redmi A2 was priced at ₹6,300 for the 2/32GB variant and ₹8,500 for the 4/128GB model (initially, the latter was the cost of the 4/64GB version, which was later replaced). Anticipated to be available beyond the borders of India, specific details for international release are yet to be revealed.
