OnePlus 11 has already gotten the stable Android 14
update but the brand has taken a lot of time to launch the same update for its
first foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open. Now the wait is finally over and the OnePlus Open is ready to
get the OxygenOS 14 update based on Android 14 today.
That is if you're in
India. For whatever reason, OnePlus chose to limit the deployment to India for
the time being. I'm hoping that it will be released internationally very soon.
One more disclaimer.
OnePlus's Closed Beta and Open Beta participants are the first to receive the
stable upgrade. It will progressively be released to further users after it
reaches each of those.
The build known as
CPH2551_14.0.0.400(EX01) is the new one. The official changelog, directly from
OnePlus, is as follows:
Among the notable
additions is Aqua Dynamics, a cutting-edge interaction method with morphing
forms that provides a quick overview of up-to-date information. The
introduction of File Dock allows users to effortlessly transfer content between
apps and devices through a simple drag-and-drop interface. Content Extraction,
another noteworthy feature, enables users to recognize and extract text and
images from the screen with just a single tap.
OnePlus Open has also
incorporated Smart Cutout, a feature designed to separate multiple subjects in
a photo from the background, facilitating easy copying or sharing. The Shelf
experience has been enhanced with more widget recommendations, offering improved
customization options for users. The update also focuses on bolstering security
with enhanced photo and video-related permission management.
In terms of
performance, the update brings improvements to system stability, app launch
speed, and the smoothness of animations. The Aquamorphic Design has undergone
an upgrade, featuring a natural, gentle, and clearer color style to provide
users with a more comfortable color experience. Additionally, users can enjoy
Aquamorphic-themed ringtones and revamped system notification sounds.
The update doesn't stop there; system animations have been fine-tuned for even greater smoothness, contributing to an overall enhanced user interface. One innovative addition is the carbon tracking Always-On Display (AOD), which visualizes the carbon emissions saved by opting for walking instead of driving.
