The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ now formally includes telephoto lenses, marking a
first for the model number. The pair made their debut in India, and a high-end
version was created in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker Ollivier Saveo for
both models.
While the 12 Pro+ is
the first phone from the firm to use a periscope lens in front of the telephoto
camera, the 12 Pro offers a traditional 2x optical zoom for portraiture.
The 12 Pro boasts a
6.7-inch OLED display with elegantly curved edges. The screen offers a 120 Hz
refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and an impressive 240 Hz touch sampling
rate. Running on a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, the device is equipped with a
2.2 GHz CPU and an Adreno 710 GPU.
Maintaining the 5,000
mAh battery from its predecessor, the Realme 12 Pro supports 67W SuperVOOC
charging. Official information reveals a remarkable charging speed, with 50%
capacity achieved in just 19 minutes and a full battery charge in only 48
minutes.
The camera setup includes
a 50 MP main camera with OIS and a Sony IMX882 sensor (1/2” size), along with a
2x telephoto shooter featuring a 32 MP Sony IMX709 imager (1/2.74” in size).
Additionally, there's an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 16 MP selfie shooter
to enhance the device's photography capabilities.
Out of the box, the
phone comes pre-installed with Realme UI 5.0 and Android 14. Although the backs
of both color variations have vegan leather—which is still composed of
plastic—and the blue one would imply a relationship with the well-known Rolex
brand, there isn't one. Navigator Beige and Submariner Blue are the options'
official names.
Both of the Realme 12
Pro's memory options have 8 GB of RAM. Costing INR25,999 ($310/€290) for the
128 GB version and INR26,999 ($325/€300) for the 256 GB version, respectively.
The early access offer is available starting at 6 PM IST (12:30 GMT) today and
is discounted by INR 2,000 ($24/€22).
The Plus model has the
same 6.7" OLED display with a maximum brightness of 950 nits and a 5,000
mAh battery that can be charged at a rate of 67W, which is a decrease from the
previous model's 100W pace.
However, the Realme 12
Pro+ has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip that is paired with 128 GB or 256 GB of
storage and either 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM.
The Realme GT3 and GT5 share the same 50 MP primary camera with a Sony
IMX890 sensor as the 12 Pro+, but the pricier siblings' camera has a wider
f/1.8 aperture.
Next up is the 64 MP
periscope telephoto from OmniVision, including an f/2.6 aperture, an optical
zoom of 3x (equivalent to 71mm), OIS, and a 1/2" OV64B sensor. The selfie
camera has been updated to a 32 MP Sony sensor, but the 8 MP ultrawide-angle camera
is shared with the standard 12 Pro.
This smartphone is
bundled with Android 14 and Realme UI 5.0 and is available in Submariner Blue
and Navigator Beige colors. Indian customers will have access to an exclusive
variant named Explorer Red.
The Realme 12 Pro+ is priced at INR29,999 ($360/€330) for the 8/128 GB variant, INR31,999 ($385/€355) for the 8/256 GB model, and INR33,999 ($410/€375) for the 12/256 GB option. The early access sale commences today at 6 PM IST (12:30 GMT), with the added benefit of an INR2,000 ($22/€24) early bird discount.
