The Bureau of Indian
Standards (BIS) certification portal has revealed the future Realme 12 and 12+
smartphones, suggesting that they will soon be available in the Indian market.
These new variants seem ready to follow shortly after the January 29, 2024,
launch date of the Realme 12 Pro series.
On January 24, 2024,
the Realme 12+ (model number RMX3867) and Realme 12 (model number RMX3868) both
obtained BIS certification. Although an official launch date has not yet been
declared, this validates their official entry into the Indian market.
Additionally, the US
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved the Realme 12+. This shows
off some intriguing features and architectural elements.
The FCC documentation
reveals that the Realme 12+ bears a striking resemblance to the Realme 12 Pro,
boasting dimensions of approximately 162.9 mm by 75.5 mm. Its rear design
features a circular camera arrangement, likely accommodating three cameras,
with the potential inclusion of a periscope telephoto lens.
Anticipated
specifications include a 5000 mAh Li-ion polymer battery (technically 4880
mAh), and the device is poised to showcase Realme UI 5.0, presumably built upon
Android 14. In addition to certifications from BIS and FCC, the Realme 12+ has
obtained approvals from various global authorities such as MIIT, TDRA, NBTC,
SIRIM, and SDPPI.
As previously disclosed, the launch date for the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ is set for January 29, 2024. With the non-pro models securing BIS certification and leaked specifications, it is reasonable to anticipate their unveiling shortly thereafter.
