Samsung is gearing up
to release its upcoming durable smartphone, the Galaxy Xcover 7, in 2023.
Positioned as the successor to both the standard Galaxy
Xcover 5 and the more advanced Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro, the
new model follows the successful launch of the robust Galaxy XCover 6 Pro in
June 2022. Recognized as one of the top rugged phones available, the XCover 6 Pro demonstrated its
durability as a mid-range device capable of withstanding drops, spills, and
exposure to dirt—features not typically found in conventional Galaxy devices.
Recent reports, including official renders showcased by AndroidHeadlines, offer
an early glimpse into the design of the forthcoming Galaxy Xcover 7.
The leaked images
reveal that the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 7 will
showcase a waterdrop notch and a solitary rear camera accompanied by a dual-LED
flash, all enclosed within a robust construction. According to the report, the
back panel of the device is detachable, suggesting the possibility of a
user-replaceable battery.
Featuring an Xcover
physical button, the device offers customization options for launching apps,
accessing the push-to-talk feature, and more. The report highlights the rugged
phone's compliance with MIL-STD-810H standards and its IP68 rating for dustproof
and water-resistant capabilities.
Regrettably, details about the Galaxy Xcover 7's specifications are absent in the report. Given that the previous year's Xcover 6 Pro boasted the Snapdragon 778G chipset, it's speculated that the Xcover 7, being a non-Pro variant, may house a less powerful chipset. As of now, there's no information on whether Samsung intends to release a Pro version of the device.
