ZTE Nubia Z40S Pro Overview:

ZTE introduced its latest Android smartphone ZTE Nubia Z40S Pro, launched on July 26, 2022. This smartphone has an advanced cooling system that you will see in a regular smartphone. And that makes it a premium phone with high performance. Nubia Z40S Pro has Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This new Qualcomm 5G chipset is built on TSMC's 4nm process node. The chipset/SoC has an Octa-core CPU clocked at 3.19GHz and an enhanced Adreno 730 GPU. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has many improved features and handles heat better, making it an efficient chipset. The CPU inside the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip is fast, and the GPU is also mighty. The chipset can handle any graphics-intensive game you throw at it, and using the phone is smooth thanks to the quick response and fast CPU core. The chipset has a download speed of over 42.2 Mbps and an upload speed of around 5.76 MBPS on LTE-A (CA), 5G. The storage technology is UFS 3.1, and the RAM technology is LPDDR5.

ZTE Nubia Z40S Pro has 3G, 4G, and 5G SA/NSA bands for its connectivity. The device supports GSM / CDMA / HSPA / LTE / 5G networks. It has Wi-Fi capability, dual-band, wireless hotspot capability, and a dual nano SIM slot. It has no FM radio. USB Type-C3.1 is also available in this smartphone. The dimension of this device has 161.3 x 74 x 8.1 mm and is 205 grams in weight. It is available in star, black and silver colors.

Nubia Z40S Pro has a triple rear camera and a single front camera. At the rear, it has a 64MP primary camera with PDAF and OIS features. An 8MP periscope telephoto lens supports the primary camera with PDAF, OIS, and 5x optical zoom features. The rear camera has a 50MP ultra-wide lens with an AF feature. It has a 16MP selfie camera on the front that can record stable video in 1080p resolution. The 64MP primary camera can record regular videos in 8K resolution. Nubia Z40S Pro's camera features PDAF, OIS, 5x optical zoom, gyro-EIS, AF, Dual-LED flash, panorama, and HDR.

The Nubia Z40S Pro has a display size of 6.67 inches and has an AMOLED panel, 144Hz refresh rate, and supports HDR10+. Its display brightness is up to 1000 nits, and the front screen is flat, with Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the display. The back panel is also flat, which makes the phone feel boxy in the hands.

The Nubia Z40S Pro has five RAM and storage configurations. It comes with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 18GB RAM + 1TB storage. This device has no scope for storage expansion via a microSD card slot, so you cannot expand the storage.

The regular model of the Nubia Z40S Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support. The Nubia Z40S Pro also packs a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The 120W fast model also has support for 15W magnetic wireless charging.

Nubia Z40S Pro price is expected to start around $500 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. There are other models with 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB storage and are priced at $540, $590, and $650 respectively. It may also come in a limited model with 18GB RAM + 1TB storage. The 18GB RAM + 1TB storage variant is priced around $700.

The Antutu benchmark score of ZTE Nubia Z40S Pro is 1126454. The ZTE Nubia Z40S Pro got a single-core score of 132 in the Geekbench benchmark test.
