Infinix launched its new budget smartphone Infinix Note 12 5G, on July 14, 2022. The phone is available in white and black colors and has a variant with 8GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage. The frame and back panel of the device are made of plastic, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a dedicated microSD card slot and dual nano SIM card slots.
Infinix Note 12 5G has connectivity with 3G, 4G, and 5G bands. The device
supports GSM/HSPA/LTE/5G networks, with HSPA 42.2 Mbps for download and 5.76
Mbps for upload. It has Wi-Fi capability and wireless hotspot capability. It
has no FM radio. USB Type-C 2.0 is also available in this smartphone. The
dimension of this device has 164.7 x 76.9 x 8 mm and is 186 grams in weight.
The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a stereo speaker setup, and a power
button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor. But it doesn't look as premium as
the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, and the device doesn't compromise on functionality.
There is no NFC support, so be aware of that.
Infinix Note 12 5G is powered by MediaTek MT6833P Dimensity 810 chipset for
performance. The Note 12 5G is one of the most affordable smartphones with the
Mediatek Dimensity 810 SoC, a capable mid-range 5G chipset. The operating
system, Android 12, XOS 10.6, is given. The phone comes with Octa-core 2x2.4
GHz Cortex-A76 and 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 CPU, and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU is a perfect
match for better performance. You won't face any problems.
The Infinix Note 12 5G features a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+
resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. While the AMOLED part of the equation is on
par with the competition, the low refresh rate makes the phone feel sluggish
when scrolling through social media platforms. The Infinix Note 12 5G display
is vibrant and bright enough for indoor use. Widevine is L1 certified, and I
was also able to stream FHD content on Prime Video and Netflix. However, it
also doesn't support streaming HDR content on YouTube.
The Infinix Note 12 5G has a triple camera setup on the back with a 50MP
primary camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens. There should have
been a dedicated ultra-wide angle lens, which most phones in this price range
offer. The device has a 16MP selfie front camera. The primary 50MP camera can
record up to 1440p@30fps resolution videos, while the selfie camera can also
shoot videos up to 1440p@30fps. Photos taken with the primary camera are good,
provided your hands don't shake. There is a short shutter lag, so even in
daylight, the camera takes more than a second to take a picture. As for selfie
camera performance, I found the 16MP sensor to take slightly softer and noisier
photos than the primary camera.
The Infinix Note 12 5G has a 5,000 mAh non-removable battery with support for
33W fast charging. We can feel Infinix Note 12 5G's decent battery life and
charging speed. For most users, the Infinix Note 12 5G should last an entire
day without any issues. The price of the Infinix Note 12 5G is 270 USD.
